Pain points of undergraduate education in China: (It might be the final exam week that's making me super frustrated!!!!)

  • Disconnection in the education system: Classroom knowledge is outdated (excluding some elite institutions) and disconnected from the industry. Students often focus more on theory and less on practice, resulting in a gap between academics and employment.
  • Grading and evaluation mechanisms are overly subjective and biased: Teachers have a lot of leeway in grading, and there are cases where students resort to unscrupulous means to score points.
  • Easy courses take up too much of students' time.

Therefore, it is essential to emphasize the cultivation of practical abilities and self-directed learning planning: from learning pathways, textbook selection, practical assessments, to internship certifications, etc.

Recent minor troubles:

  • Professional streamlining is roughly scheduled for March to April next semester: My intended classification is mainly Electronic Information Engineering.
  • My family's intention is for me to study Electrical Engineering and then join State Grid to slack off in Putian, but I seem unwilling to accept that easily...
  • This situation is quite awkward; being young and impetuous, without having been tempered by society, it's just unfortunate that the moment of choice comes too early.
  • Ryuichi Sakamoto once said: "Life is like this, when the time comes, you have to go on stage."
  • Back to this point, it inevitably involves a question of seeking progress or stability; perhaps this question has no definitive answer, and no matter which path is chosen in the future, there will be regrets.

  • How should I put it, one must learn to choose their own state and always maintain a big-picture perspective, doing the right things at the right times.
  • Sometimes, the more one wants to move quickly, the more they need to slow down. The more one wants to go far, the more they should pay attention to the road beneath their feet. I do not aspire to reach a particular destination, but at least I hope the road ahead can be walked steadily and clearly; perhaps, this is the right answer.
  • Take it step by step, do not aim too high, and take it slow.

About witnessing#

  • First of all, I believe that as a Chinese person, we must have confidence in our nation and our country. This is not due to confidence in the government, but rather in our people and our generations.
  • There may be bad people, there may be cunning people, there may be ignorant people, but there will always be young people, full of vigor, keeping pace with the positive times.
  • What I need to do is to become one of them, contributing to the nation in my own way, rather than being trapped in negative rhetoric.
